| Flying by the only means of the power of the air and in stillness is again and again a fascinating experience. Overcoming larger distances like the migratory birds is an adventure with incomparable panorama and in conformity with nature. Thus I already shared many times a thermal or part of the distance with innumerable “colleagues” such as a sparrow or a stork. Gradually the flights became ever longer and the goals ever larger. Now the next large goal is to fly further with the paraglider than any other human has done before. Let’s do it! | |

| To be able to fly has always been my biggest dream. Being a little boy I imagined myself being flying through the world without any additional help. Without any it wasn’t possible of course. That’s how I got to paragliding. At the time I learnt how to paraglide nobody was talking of distance flying yet. But we drove up to de mountain 4-5 times a day to immediately fly down again. With the time material and pilots improved and already in 1992 I realized my first 100 km distance flight from Fiesch to Flims. Nowadays my goals are more ambitious. To be more precise, I aim at a distance of over 424 km. May our project be blessed with good weather, good spirit and with no accidents. |

Nationality: Swiss Born: 11.04.1974 Profession: electronics technician Pilot since: 1991 Tandempilot since: 1996 Flight instructor since: 2002 Longest Flight: 168 km Max. Altitude: 4900m Longest Flight: 8h 45min |
| After having passed my licence in 1992 Paragliding became my favourite hobby with over 150 flights a year. After 10 years I transformed my hobby into my profession. Like this I was able to let many people experience the fascination of flying either as paragliding instructor or as a Tandem pilot. After having been a paragliding instructor for 5 years I decided to go back to my initially learnt profession. This allows me to invest again more time into paragliding distance flying, my favourite Hobby and other activities which I didn’t have enough time to practice. |

| I was born 1955 in Uitikon. I am a master workman. Together with my wife Maya I’ve been living in Stallikon for 24 years now. We have two adult sons. I got to Paragliding by doing a Tandem flight from the Schilthorn. I was absolutely fascinated and immediately started training. I don’t find much time anymore for my other hobbies such as biking and repairing old cars. Flying and being together with colleagues sharing the same passion means a lot to me. That’s why I am really looking forward to the upcoming adventure in South Africa. |

| It was by coincidence that I got to paragliding. I just finished college but didn’t want to study right afterwards. So I started looking for a practical training. Over detours I then got to the Schlechtflieger MAGAZIN and somehow never left. Meanwhile I put my studying plans aside. I started training as media designer at the Schlechtflieger MAGAZIN. Working for such a magazine you can hardly ignore the fascination of flying. And so it came as it had to be. I am still in training but hope to get my paragliding licence soon. | |
